Chet Baker – Boston 1954

Uptown Records Flashback Series

Released for the first time in the early ’90s, this CD consists of three radio broadcasts by the Chet Baker Quartet from the Storyville Club in Boston. In each case the trumpeter/leader is joined by pianist Russ Freeman, bassist Carson Smith and drummer Bob Neel. Baker, who takes a vocal on “Time After Time,” is in excellent form performing his standard repertoire of the period. It’s easily recommended to all Chet Baker fans. – Review by Scott Yanow, All Music Guide
